I bought what was described as a “Women Shoulder Bag with Soft Leather Handles” through Tomoson.com, (https://touchurban.com/products/new-fashion-brand-women-shoulder-bag-soft-leather-handle-bags-ladies-tassel-tote-handbag-high-quality-womens-hand-bag) and have agreed to review it on various social media sites. This is difficult, because I like to give exuberantly positive reviews, and this bag just doesn’t inspire exuberance. It is petite and easy to carry, which makes it perfect for shopping trips and places where someone needs two free hands. It has both a small carry-handle, and a generously-long clip-on strap So that it can be carried cross-body.  As you can see in the photo, the strap is not exactly soft, nor are they “leather”, as they were described. The bag is a conveniently small size for errands, but it is also very narrow, which limits the number and size of items that can be carried - a wallet for instance would be too thick. I did not read the dimensions careful...

Purging

For some strange reason, I had the urge to clean out an old filing cabinet that I haven't opened in years. It was an interesting, bittersweet experience, and I am having a tough time coming to grips with this shift in perspective. You see, while it felt good to get rid of boxes of paper that no longer had any use or purpose, and purging and minimizing are very attractive activities right now, I now feel that I have lost something precious that I will never be able to recover.  I love simplifying, paring down to the things that are really useful, joyful and purposeful. But as I sorted through craft ideas, photos, articles and correspondences from long ago, I felt that I was letting go of more than pieces of paper.  I was letting go of dreams, plans, friends, hopes and a big piece of myself. Yes, I know that I will never knit my children sweaters with cute little giraffes and dinosaurs; not only did I never achieve this level of competence, but my children are now adults who...

Loving my Marigold Paper Cutter!!

I finally broke down and bought a paper cutter when we had dozens of announcements for a formal event to cut in half. I was also making ornaments from the pages of an old book (they turned out beautiful!) so I was literally cutting hundreds of 1/2 inch strips -- a paper cutter was the only logical way to complete both projects. Well, being the budget-conscious person I am, I bought a paper cutter that was "affordable". It was fine, but we had a few slips, some ragged edges, and it was a pain to set it up because it came in two pieces! That's why I was happy to try the Marigold 12" Professional Titanium Rotary Paper Trimmer Cutter (https://marigoldtechnology.com/collections/paper-trimmer-guillotine/products/marigold-12-professional-titanium-rotary-paper-trimmer-cutter-tr410) Although this cutter is more compact, its titanium blade cuts cleanly through multiple layers of paper - even card stock! It holds the paper secure, so we had no slips or ragged edges, even w...
