L-Shaped Computer Desk

This desk was bought so that we could turn my daughter and her fiance's second bedroom into an office/craft space. Like most apartments, theirs is short on space, so we were looking for a desk that would fit into a corner, and one that we could dedicate to both activities, and be flexible enough to hold whatever materials they needed in that room. And, we thought maybe that my daughter MIGHT share part of it with her fiance....But that remains to be determined!

First of all, it was delivered VERY promptly! The delivery person brought it upstairs to her apartment, and left it outside her door, so she didn't have to bring it up on the elevator! Thank you, anonymous delivery person.  It wasn't that hard to get the box into the second bedroom, and once she opened the box, daughter decided that she could put this together on her own!

She said that it was fairly easy to put together. The instructions were clear, and the biggest problem was that tightening screws underneath the desk was a bit awkward. She said that the screws were "soft" and she almost stripped a few while making sure that they were tight, so be advised and be careful.

The desk has reinforcing bars that make it sturdy, and the feet can be adjusted for uneven floors, so it is strong, but not huge and bulky.

It went together pretty quickly, and she was happy that she could do it all by herself!!

This desk is large -- almost 5 feet long and 19 inches wide.  It really fills the corner, and gives her lots of room to leave the sewing machine, laptop and papers out, and still have room to work.

I like the clean, modern lines, and it fits into the room nicely. For the price, this desk is just what we needed in a small NY city apartment, and since it was delivered right to our door, it was an easy purchase, too. I bought it on Amazon, (https://www.amazon.com/L-Shaped-Computer-Desk-Assemble/dp/B083FGDKY8/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=l+shaped+gaming+desk) so I was able to get free shipping, too!

Pinterest vs Learnist

I definitely would like to set up a board of some kind for the school library. We could add sites for research, fun tools to explore, games and educational activities, and other schools' sites. I am wondering whether to go with Pinterest or Learnist. Pros and cons: Pinterest is very popular, and seems like it is here to stay. Learnist is educational, so there would be less temptation to stray from recommended sites. Both are attractive, and easy to use. Must research and experiment further before unveiling The Site.....

Terrific sofa cover - for the right sofa!

We go through sofa covers with alarming speed.  I think we are on the sixth one in two dogs...And Ashton totally shredded one in a month!!   Since Kenzie has claimed the off-white sofa as her own,    I need to keep it protected. But it is hard to keep the cover on - Since she is so “active, I need to use upholstery pins to keep the cover in place! Would you believe that she bent every one of the pins, and they all came loose?  That's why I thought that this sofa cover ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M32JJM2 ) would be the solution to our problems, since it has rolls that tuck in between the cushions and the frame to keep it in place, and a nice strap that wraps around the back of the sofa as well to keep the back covered.  However, I failed to measure and check the dimensions accurately, and the cover is far too small for Kenzie's sofa - which, admittedly, is a large one. We usually need two protective covers to go from ...

Zinc Alloy Fast Charging Cable from US Gift Giant

People who know me know that I like my Apple devices! I have an Apple watch, iPhone, iPad, iPod, MacBook....I like all of my devices to play together! But having so many toys means that one or more is always in need of a charge, and let's just say that charging cords tend to disappear  around my house! I was very happy with my purchase from US Gift Giant of a  Zinc Alloy Fast Charging Cable, through the Tomoson review site.  ( https://usgiftgiant.com/zinc-alloy-fast-charging-cable-for-iphone-ipad-quick-charging-premium-quality-data-transfer-and-charging-cable-for-iphone-ipad-unique-design-fast-charging-cable-for-iphone-ipad/?ctk=273770b1-010e-4da8-a5cd-004539e6bdd5 ) Right away, I was impressed by the  sturdiness of the cord; it appears to be about a third thicker than my old standard charging cords. And the plugs at either end are well-connected, not wimpy. Many of my charging cords fray near the plug, and it looks like this one will stand up to daily use bet...
